Regular Season Round 27: Fos Ouest - Poitiers 74-91

There was a small surprise in Fos-sur-Mer where fourteenth ranked Poitiers (11-16) defeated 11th ranked Fos Ouest (11-16) 91-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Poitiers. Fos Ouest was better in third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Poitiers shot 61.5 percent from the field. Poitiers had a 25-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. The best player for the winners was point guard Carl Ona-Embo (185-89) who scored 23 points and 4 assists. American-Dominican Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) chipped in 25 points. Ona-Embo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Will Harris (197-86, college: Albany) who recorded 20 points and naturalized Mali Sambou Traore (198-79) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Poitiers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with St Quentin and Fos Ouest. Fos Ouest lost their third game in a row. Poitiers will face bottom-ranked Angers BC (#18) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
