Regular Season Round 43: Kumamoto V. - Tochigi Brex 66-74

Rather predictable result when second ranked Tochigi Brex (36-10) defeated on the road 5th ranked Kumamoto V. (6-40) 74-66 on Sunday. Kumamoto V. trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 25-16 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 66-74 at the end of the game. Kumamoto V. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) helped adding 11 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Kento Matsuzaki (178-88) responded with 11 points and 7 assists and American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They maintain second place with 36-10 record having just two points less than leader Hitachi SR. Kumamoto V. lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 40 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Hyogo S. (#4) at home in the next round. Kumamoto V. will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
