Very important is a road loss of third ranked Bilbao Basket (18-9) against thirteenth ranked Asefa Estudiantes (11-16) on Sunday night. Visiting Bilbao Basket was defeated by Asefa Estudiantes in a tough game in Madrid 77-83. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bilbao Basket won fourth quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bilbao Basket 33-18 including 24 on the defensive glass. Bilbao Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Italian Pietro Aradori (194-88) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Nacho Martin (203-83) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. point guard Joaquim Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) answered with 13 points and the former international forward Alex Mumbru (202-79, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points in the effort for Bilbao Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bilbao Basket's coach Alfonso Alonso rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Asefa Estudiantes maintains thirteenth place with 11-16 record. Bilbao Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Asefa Estudiantes will play against league's leader Unicaja Malaga at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bilbao Basket will play against Blusens Monbus in Santoago de Comp and hopes to get back on the winning track.
