Regular Season Round 28: Valladolid - Forca Lleida 72-68

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Lleida Basquet's (15-11) road loss to fourth ranked Blancos de Rueda (18-8) 68-72. Lleida Basquet was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Blancos de Rueda dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Lleida Basquet's 16. Quite impressive performance for center Sergio De La Fuente (198-89) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 8 rebounds. Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (192-91) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Blancos de Rueda players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: APAA Sports Group) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Jose Simeon (187-91) added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Lleida Basquet. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Blancos de Rueda have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ourense. Lleida Basquet at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Blancos de Rueda's next round opponent will be league's leader Leche Rio Breogan in Lugo and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lleida Basquet will play at home against the league's second-placed Burgos (#2) and hope to win that game.
