Quarter-Finals Round 3: Cherkasy - BC Kyiv 87-74

The game was mostly controlled by Cherkasy. BC Kyiv was better in fourth quarter 19-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherkasy dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to BC Kyiv's 34. They outrebounded BC Kyiv 49-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. Cherkasy players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for British forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, college: Loyola Mary) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Naturalized Moldovan center Stanislav Zavadsky (213-87) accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Maksym Lutsenko (188-93) came up with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for BC Kyiv in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
