Regular Season Round 25: Netanya - Hapoel Migd.H. 98-102 OT

GreenTops Netanya (#4) forced the game against Hapoel Migd.H. (#2) into an overtime, but lost by four points 98-102 on Tuesday night. The game took place in Netanya. But the guests from Tarshicha were better at the end. GreenTops Netanya trailed by 19 points after 3 quarters before a 34-15 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 7-11. Hapoel Migd.H. forced 23 GreenTops Netanya turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. GreenTops Netanya was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Point guard Ziv Ben-Zvi (183-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists for the winners. American Brandon Brown (199-85, college: CS San Bernar.) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Lior Segev (180-83, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 16 assists in the effort for GreenTops Netanya. Five Hapoel Migd.H. and four GreenTops Netanya players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hapoel Migd.H. (19-6) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place behind leader Ironi K-A, which they share with Maccabi K/G. GreenTops Netanya at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Hapoel Migd.H. will face Elitzur Yavne (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. GreenTops Netanya will play against Elitzur Ramla and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Winner League just one year after relegation.
