Very significant was Taiyuan Textile's (#2, 7-6) victory against 3rd placed Chunghwa Telecom (5-8) 76-66. The game was mostly controlled by Taiyuan Textile. Chunghwa Telecom was better in fourth quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Taiyuan Textile dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Chunghwa Telecom's 36. Strangely Chunghwa Telecom outrebounded Taiyuan Textile 40-26 including a 20-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The former international center Pei-Chen Tsai (186-84) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Yi-Lien Chiang (165-82) accounted for 13 points. Forward Wei-Lin Wang (180-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Li-Yun Wang (176-85) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Chunghwa Telecom in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Taiyuan Textile have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-6 record having five points less than leader Cathay Life. Chunghwa Telecom at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Taiyuan Textile will play against league's leader Cathay Life in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chunghwa Telecom will play against Taipower and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
