Regular Season Round 29: Melilla - Coruna 83-70

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Leyma Basquet (11-16) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (13-15) 83-70. The game was mostly controlled by Melilla Baloncesto. Leyma Basquet was better in second period 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Melilla Baloncesto made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Melilla Baloncesto shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Swingman Carles Bravo (193-79) nailed 27 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Greek power forward Giorgos Tsiaras (206-82) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Georgian Beka Burjanadze (202-94) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Jesus Castro (191-83) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Leyma Basquet in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Melilla Baloncesto maintains ninth place with 13-15 record. Leyma Basquet at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 16 games lost. Melilla Baloncesto will have a break next round. Leyma Basquet will play at home against Palencia Baloncesto (#6) and hope to win that game.
