Very important is a road loss of second ranked PGE Turow (19-7) against seventh ranked Asseco (15-12) on Friday night. Visiting PGE Turow was defeated by Asseco in a tough game in Gdynia 78-86. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-14. But PGE Turow won second period 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Asseco made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. PGE Turow was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Piotr Szczotka (196-81, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Asseco players scored in double figures. Romanian power forward Vlad-Sorin Moldoveanu (206-88, college: American, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 15 points and Serbian guard Nemanja Jaramaz (200-91, agency: Beo Basket) added 15 points in the effort for PGE Turow. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Asseco maintains seventh place with 15-12 record. Defending champion PGE Turow keeps the second position with seven games lost. Asseco will play against bottom-ranked Wikana Start (#16) in Lublin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PGE Turow will play at home against Wilki Morskie (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
