Regular Season Round 29: Valladolid - Breogan 87-85

The most exciting game of round 29 in the LEB Gold took place in Valladolid. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (20-8) to fourth ranked Blancos de Rueda (19-8) 87-85 on Friday evening. Leche Rio Breogan was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 28-22 charge of Blancos de Rueda, which allowed them to win the game. 29 personal fouls committed by Leche Rio Breogan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) who scored 14 points and 7 assists. The former international guard Roman Montanez (191-79) chipped in 16 points. point guard Sergio Sanchez (189-81) produced 13 points and 5 assists and Dutch forward Kevin van Wijk (203-89, college: Valparaiso) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Four Blancos de Rueda and five Leche Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Blancos de Rueda have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ourense. Leche Rio Breogan at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Blancos de Rueda is looking forward to face league's leader Burgos on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leche Rio Breogan will play against CB Prat and is hoping to win this game.
