Regular Season Round 15: Aguilas - Cafeteros 91-98

An interesting game for Cafeteros (10-6) which played road game in Boyaca against 3rd placed Patriotas (10-6). First ranked Cafeteros managed to get a 7-point victory 98-91. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 48-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Cafeteros made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Patriotas outrebounded Cafeteros 46-26 including a 19-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dominican swingman Dagoberto Pena (198-88, college: Marshall) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Cory Bradford (191-78, college: Illinois) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. American guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Jereal Scott (203-89, college: SF Austin) added 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Patriotas. Four Cafeteros and five Patriotas players scored in double figures. Cafeteros have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Despite that victory Cafeteros went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Aguilas. Cafeteros will have a break next round. Patriotas will play again at home against Cafeteros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
