Very important is a road loss of third ranked Boulazac Basket (19-10) against ninth ranked Le Portel (15-13) on Friday night. Visiting Boulazac Basket was defeated by Le Portel in a tough game in Le Portel 67-71. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Boulazac Basket was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jakim Donaldson (203-83, college: Edinboro) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Kinu Rochford (198-90, college: Fair Dickinson) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Le Portel players scored in double figures. At the losing side British Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American David Jackson (195-86, college: W.Illinois) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Le Portel moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Roanne and Orchy. Boulazac Basket at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Le Portel will play against Orchesien BC (#8) in Orchies in the next round. Boulazac Basket will play at home against Charleville-Mezieres (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
