Regular Season Round 50: Oita H.Devils - Shiga L-Stars 68-87

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Oita Heat Devils (17-31) were outplayed at home by fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (32-16) 87-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Oita Heat Devils was better in fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shiga L-Stars made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Yu Okada (184-83) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. American guard Demetri McCamey (191-89, college: Illinois) responded with 18 points and his fellow American import forward Kellen Thornton (201-88, college: Tennessee St., agency: David Lee services) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shiga L-Stars have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 32-16 record. Loser Oita Heat Devils keep the seventh place with 31 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Shiga L-Stars (#4) and hope to win that game.
