Regular Season Round 44: Tochigi Brex - Hyogo S. 102-80

Date: April 11, 2015
Rather expected game when 4th ranked Hyogo S. (16-31) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Tochigi Brex (38-10) 102-80 on Saturday. The game without a history. Tochigi Brex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Hyogo S.'s 50. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87, agency: APAA Sports Group) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Furukawa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 24 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) added 16 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 38-10 record behind leader Hitachi SR. Hyogo S. at the other side keeps the fourth place with 31 games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round. Hyogo S. will play at home against Hokkaido L. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
