Regular Season Round 28: Cambados - CB Tarragona 67-58

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Cambados (15-11) beat at home 10th ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (12-14) 67-58 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-58. Cambados forced 26 CB Tarragona 2017 turnovers. Strangely CB Tarragona 2017 outrebounded Cambados 45-25 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Congolese forward Charles Nkaloulou (199-94) fired 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Sergi Quintela (182-96) chipped in 15 points and 5 steals. Cambados' coach Yago Casal used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Antonio Hester (198-90, college: Mobile, AL, agency: Dynamics Global Management) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and Nigerian center Ehimen Orukpe (213-89, college: Wichita St.) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Cambados have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Fuenlabrada. Newly promoted CB Tarragona 2017 keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Cambados will meet higher ranked CB Guadalajara (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CB Tarragona 2017 will play against the league's leader Caceres Basket (#1) and hope to secure a win.
