Regular Season Round 50: Shinshu BW - Niigata Albirex 64-93
Date: April 11, 2015
Not a big story in a game in Nagano where 7th ranked Shinshu BW (19-28) was rolled over by fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (32-15) 93-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. Niigata Albirex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 30. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 40-29 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Niigata Albirex looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Shinshu BW's players. American center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Two Points) scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. American forward Terrence Jennings (208-88, college: Louisville) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Junki Kano (192-88) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Niigata Albirex have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 32-15 record. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the seventh place with 28 games lost. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round. Shinshu BW will play again at home against Niigata Albirex (#4) and hope to win that game.
