We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Caracas where 8th ranked Gigantes (8-18) were defeated by ninth ranked Panteras (6-21) 87-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. Panteras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Justin Williams (206-84, college: Wyoming) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international forward Hernan Salcedo (198-80) who added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. The former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panteras maintains ninth position with 6-21 record. Gigantes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
