Regular Season Round 16: Aguilas - Cafeteros 93-73

There was a change at the Liga DirecTV leadership position after last games. Round 16 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Cafeteros (10-6). They were crushed by third ranked Patriotas (10-6) 93-73 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Cafeteros. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Patriotas. Cafeteros managed to win fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Patriotas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Eddy Barlow (185-81, college: Sam Houston St.) who added 18 points, 11 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Sneed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Patriotas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Dominican forward Bobby Pandy (198-84, college: Tex.A&M-Kingsv.) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Da'Quan Cook (205-87, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Patriotas moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Cafeteros. Cafeteros will play next round against strong Piratas trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Patriotas will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Marinos de Bolivar on the road.
