Regular Season Round 28: Poitiers - Angers BC 72-58

Date: April 11, 2015
No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Poitiers (12-16) beat at home bottom-ranked Angers BC (4-24) 72-58 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-58. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Carl Ona-Embo (185-89) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Ona-Embo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Ibrahima Koma (202-87) replied with 13 points and swingman Gaylor Curier (197-92) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Angers BC. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Poitiers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with St Quentin and Fos Ouest. Newly promoted Angers BC stay dead last with 24 lost games. Poitiers will face Aix-Maurienne (#17) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round where they are favorite. Angers BC will play at home against Denain Voltaire having rather not much hope for a victory.
