Very significant was Marinos de Bolivar's (#5) 103-89 road victory against 5th ranked Llaneros. Llaneros were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 56-40 second half run of Marinos de Bolivar. They outrebounded Llaneros 42-27 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Christopher Moore (205-82, college: Virginia Union) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Tyrone Rayson (198-80, college: East Central) supported him with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
