Regular Season Round 50: Iwate Big Bulls - Saitama Bron. 112-72

BJ League top team - Iwate Big Bulls (38-9) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Saitama Broncos (5-42) 112-72. The game without a history. Iwate Big Bulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Iwate Big Bulls outrebounded Saitama Broncos 54-18 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Saitama Broncos were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple, agency: APAA Sports Group) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Wayne Arnold (193-84, college: Tennessee St.) supported him with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Dai Oketani felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) did not help to save the game for Saitama Broncos. Forward Yuki Nobuhira (190-87) added 16 points for the guests. Iwate Big Bulls have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 38-9 record. Saitama Broncos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 42 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will again play against Saitama Broncos (#12) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Saitama Broncos will have a break next round.
