The game in Oita was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (32-16) played at the court of 7th ranked Oita Heat Devils (17-31). Shiga L-Stars managed to secure a 4-point victory 80-76 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Oita Heat Devils. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Oita Heat Devils won third quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Shiga L-Stars won last quarter 21-18. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 22 points. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Kellen Thornton (201-88, college: Tennessee St., agency: David Lee services) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Drew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shiga L-Stars have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 32-16 record. Loser Oita Heat Devils keep the seventh place with 31 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oita Heat Devils will play again against Shiga L-Stars (#4) and hope to secure a win.
