Date: April 11, 2015
An interesting game for Torino (7-2) which hosted in Torino one of their biggest challengers Vicenza (4-5). Second ranked Torino managed to get a 7-point victory 55-48. Vicenza trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 15-9 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 48-55 at the end of the game. Torino forced 21 Vicenza turnovers. Guard Alice Quarta (174-91) notched 21 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international power forward Ntumba Madelene Mitongu (180-81, college: Miami, OH) supported her with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Laura Benko (180-83, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Vicenza. Swingman Irene Pieropan (180-91) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Torino maintains second position in A2 with 7-2 record behind leader San Giovanni. Loser Vicenza keeps the third place with five games lost. Torino will meet Team Crema (#4) on the road in the next round. Vicenza will play against the league's leader San Pietro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
