Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Arxil Pontevedra (16-6) beat at home 10th ranked Oviedo (4-18) 70-56. The game was mostly controlled by Arxil Pontevedra. Oviedo was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arxil Pontevedra forced 19 Oviedo turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American Fallon Lewis (183-92, college: Wyoming) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Arxil Pontevedra's coach Mayte Mendez used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Sara Fernandez (180-87) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian Ines Orselli (-93) added 13 points in the effort for Oviedo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Arxil Pontevedra moved-up to third place in Group A. Oviedo at the other side keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost.
