Regular Season Round 24: Dunkerque - SIG 76-69

Date: April 11, 2015
Very predictable result when third ranked Dunkerque (17-6) defeated at home 10th ranked SIG (10-14) 76-69. It looked good early as SIG took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dunkerque had a 24-13 second period charge getting the lead and SIG was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-76. Dunkerque players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Keisha Hampton (187-90, college: De Paul, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Anais Viale (188-91) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Celine Schmitt-Sender (185-80) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward Aline Fischbach (178-89) added 17 points and 4 steals in the effort for SIG. Four SIG players scored in double figures. Dunkerque have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-6 record having five points less than leader Nice. SIG lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 14 games lost. Dunkerque's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Roche in La Roche and it will be for sure the game of the week. SIG will play at home against Avenir (#6) and hope to win that game.
