The game in Toyama was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Sendai 89ers (32-14) played at the court of 5th ranked Toyama Grouses (31-16). Sendai 89ers managed to secure a 8-point victory 86-78. Forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists and center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Crosse) added 28 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Toyama Grouses. Sendai 89ers have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 32-14 record having seven points less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Toyama Grouses lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 16 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round. Toyama Grouses will play again at home against Sendai 89ers (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
