Regular Season Round 51: Kyoto Hannar. - Shimane SM 87-70

Very predictable result when first ranked Kyoto Hannar. (40-8) beat at home 6th ranked Shimane Magic (18-30) 87-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Shimane Magic was better in fourth quarter 31-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Kyoto Hannar. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Ryan Forehan-Kelly (196-80, college: California) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Joe Chapman (193-84, college: Marquette, agency: I.D.S. Law) who recorded 16 points and forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) added 7 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar. maintains first place with 40-8 record. Shimane Magic at the other side keeps the sixth position with 30 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face Tokyo Cinq R. (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shimane Magic will play against Fukuoka Rizing (#10) and hope to win that game.
