Regular Season Round 44: Hiroshima D. - Toyota Alvark 77-91

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Dragonflies (19-28) against fourth ranked Toyota Alvark (32-14) on Sunday night. Host Dragonflies unexpectedly were defeated by in Hiroshima 77-91. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Toyota Alvark forced 25 Dragonflies turnovers. The winners were led by American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who scored that evening 29 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Toyota Alvark's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by Senegalese center Pape Faye (200-87) did not help to save the game for Dragonflies. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas, agency: APAA Sports Group) added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 32-14 record. Dragonflies lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the third place with 28 games lost. Toyota Alvark's next round opponent will be Wakayama T. (#7) on the road. Dragonflies will play against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
