Not a big story in a game in Nagano where 7th ranked Shinshu BW (19-29) was defeated by fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (33-15) 84-69 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 27-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Niigata Albirex dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 32 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Guard Russell Carter (196-85, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the seventh position with 29 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face Aomori Watts (#6) at home in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against Sendai 89ers and hope to win that game.
