Second Stage Round 4: Jolly JBS - Gorica 87-91

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 3rd ranked Jolly (0-1) lost to fourth ranked Gorica (1-1) in Sibenik 87-91 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Jolly won third quarter 27-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Gorica won last quarter 23-21. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Jolly's 36. Jolly was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for point guard Roko Rogic (185-92) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 rebounds. Bosnian center Barisa Krasic (203-78) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Pasko Vrlika (204-91, agency: XL Basketball Agency) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and power forward Mate Mrva (198-83, agency: XL Basketball Agency) added 22 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Jolly. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gorica left bottom position moving up to third place in Places 9-13. Jolly at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. Gorica will have a break next round. Jolly will play on the road against the league's second-placed KK Split (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
