Regular Season Round 44: Chiba Jets - Mitsubishi DD 75-60

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (25-21) against fifth ranked Chiba Jets (29-17) on Sunday night. Visiting Mitsubishi Dolphins unexpectedly were defeated by in Chiba 60-75. The game was mostly controlled by Chiba Jets. Mitsubishi Dolphins managed to win second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) who added 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) responded with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chiba Jets maintains fifth position with 29-17 record. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the second place with 21 games lost. Chiba Jets will meet league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play against Tsukuba R. and hope to secure a win.
