Second Stage Round 10: Carugate - Albino 44-63

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Carugate (5-4) against fourth ranked Albino (5-3) on Sunday night. Host Carugate was crushed by Albino in Corugate 63-44. It looked good early as Carugate took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Albino had a 16-9 second period charge getting the lead and Carugate was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 44-63. Albino held Carugate to an opponent 23.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Point guard Chiara Lussana (171-96) scored 14 points to lead the charge for the winners and Czech forward Tereza Vorlova (186-86) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Albino's coach Nazareno Lombardi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Patrizia De Gianni (191-88) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Susanna Stabile (178-80) scored 10 points and 5 steals. Albino moved-up to third place in A2. Carugate at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Albino will play against Biassono (#6) at home in the next round. Carugate will play against Viterbo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
