Budivelnyk survived an overtime thriller to tame Dnipro in the first game of the semifinal series. Dnipro trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 26-14 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 7-9. Budivelnyk made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Dnipro was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (215-84) stepped up and scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Denys Lukashov (190-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
