Semi-Finals Game 1: Khimik - BC Kyiv 96-62

Khimik cruised past BC Kyiv in the opening game of the semis. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. BC Kyiv was better in fourth quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to BC Kyiv's 24 and made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded BC Kyiv 55-21 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Khimik looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Khimik made 7 blocks. American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple) stepped up and scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and international power forward Maxym Korniyenko (204-87, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 22 points. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. Khimik's coach Karlis Muiznieks felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) responded with 19 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international Artem Shvets (200-85) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds.
