Regular Season Round 35: Guaros - Trotamundos 80-68

The game between Top Four teams took place in Barquisimeto. Third ranked host Guaros (19-8) defeated 4th placed Trotamundos (15-10) 80-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Trotamundos. The game was mostly controlled by Guaros. Trotamundos was better in third quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for international power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Tu Holloway (182-89, college: Xavier) accounted for 15 points and 6 assists for the winning side. The former international Dwight Lewis (197-87, college: USC) came up with 21 points and the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette) added 15 points respectively for Trotamundos in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaros moved-up to second place, which they share with Bucaneros. Trotamundos at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Guaiqueries. Guaros will again play against Trotamundos (#5) in Valencia in the next round. Trotamundos will have a break next round.
