The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan's (5-1) home victory over 3rd placed Caballeros de Culiacan (4-3) 76-67 on Friday. Caballeros de Culiacan trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 21-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 67-76 at the end of the game. Lobos UAD Mazatlan shot 64.4 percent from the field. American forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) fired 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) chipped in 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. American Theron Laudermill (202-89, college: CS San Bernar.) produced 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and guard Adrian Jesus Villalobos (183) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Lobos UAD Mazatlan maintains second place with 5-1 record having just three points less than leader Guaymas. Caballeros de Culiacan at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will face again Caballeros de Culiacan (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
