Regular Season Round 32: Lourdes - Vichy 64-72 OT

Lourdes-Tarbes (#7) forced the game against JA Vichy (#3) into an overtime, but lost by eight points 64-72 on Friday night. The game took place in Tarbes. But the guests from Vichy were better at the end. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lourdes-Tarbes won third quarter 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Lourdes-Tarbes used huge pressure winning it 16-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 11-19. JA Vichy made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Lourdes-Tarbes turnovers. American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) contributed with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. Guard Sebastien Cape (184-93) replied with 16 points and power forward Pierre Pelos (205-92) added 12 points in the effort for Lourdes-Tarbes. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. JA Vichy (20-11) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position having three points less than leader St Chamond, which they share with Challans and Chartres. Lourdes-Tarbes at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. JA Vichy will face ADA Blois (#6) at home in the next round. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Rueil and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
