Regular Season Round 45: Hiroshima D. - Hitachi SR 72-86

An interesting game for Hitachi Sunrockers (42-8) which played road game in Hiroshima against 3rd placed Dragonflies (19-31). First ranked Hitachi Sunrockers managed to get a 14-point victory 86-72. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Hitachi Sunrockers made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Dragonflies only scored three points from the stripe. It was a good game for naturalized American guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: Cal Merced) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach Michael Olson used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas, agency: APAA Sports Group) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Yusuke Okada (185-84) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Dragonflies. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 42-8 record. Dragonflies lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the third position with 31 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Wakayama T. (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dragonflies will play against Chiba Jets (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
