Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Toyota Alvark (35-14) outplayed on the road 7th ranked Wakayama T. (5-45) 111-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Wakayama T.'s 54. Toyota Alvark forced 21 Wakayama T. turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Wakayama T.'s players. It was a good game for American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Satoshi Takeda (185-80) added 16 points in the effort for Wakayama T.Toyota Alvark have an impressive series of eighteen victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 35-14 record. Wakayama T. lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 45 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Kumamoto V. (#6) at home in the next round. Wakayama T. will play against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
