Second Stage Round 11: Roma SRB - Cagliari A. 58-61

Leading Roma SRB (7-2) recorded its second loss at the home court. Hosts were edged by third ranked Cagliari A. (6-4) 61-58. It looked good early as Roma SRB took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cagliari A. had a 16-9 second period charge getting the lead and Roma SRB was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-61. Cagliari A. forced 33 Roma SRB turnovers. Strangely Roma SRB outrebounded Cagliari A. 34-12 including a 24-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Roma SRB was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Michela Laccorte (170-90) accounted for 18 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Forward Marta Masoni (183-93, college: CS Northridge) came up with 19 points and Latvian forward Dace Bicane (185-90, college: Cumberlands) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Roma SRB in the defeat. Roma SRB's coach Angela Adamoli tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cagliari A. maintains third place in A2 with 6-4 record having just -2 point less than leader Stabia. Newly promoted Roma SRB dropped to the second position with two games lost.
