Regular Season Round 29: Boulogne - Le Mans 57-74

Date: April 18, 2015
Everything went according to plan in Boulogne-sur-Mer where eleventh ranked Le Mans (15-14) beat bottom-ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (5-24) 74-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Le Mans. SO Maritime Boulogne was better in third quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Polish power forward Michal Ignerski (207-80, college: Mississippi St.) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and international Charles Kahudi (199-86, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Le Mans players scored in double figures. Le Mans' coach Erman Kunter allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) responded with 16 points and the other American import swingman Alando Tucker (198-84, college: Wisconsin) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Le Mans moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. SO Maritime Boulogne lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 24 lost games. Le Mans will face Chalon/Saor (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against SPO Rouen (#14) and hope to win that game.
