Round 8 most important game was a victory of Fuerza Guinda Nogales over 5th ranked Frayles de Guasave 85-80 on Saturday night. Frayles de Guasave was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Paul Reyes orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St.) contributed with 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jamine Peterson (198-88, college: Providence) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Abraham Milsap (193, college: Paine) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Frayles de Guasave. Four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales (5-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with Culiacan. Frayles de Guasave at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Navolato. Fuerza Guinda Nogales is looking forward to face Mineros de Caborca (#7) in Cananea in the next round. Frayles de Guasave will play on the road against Garra Canera de Navolato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
