No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (33-15) beat at home 8th ranked Shinshu BW (19-30) 93-83 on Saturday. Shinshu BW was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 32-16 charge of Sendai 89ers, which allowed them to win the game. They made 28-of-31 free shots (90.3 percent) during the game. Shinshu BW was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. The other American import forward Adrian Moss (204-81, college: Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) replied with 31 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and forward Shoji Nakanishi (190-82) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Shinshu BW. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach Ryuji Kawai tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sendai 89ers maintains fourth position with 33-15 record. Shinshu BW lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with 30 games lost. Sendai 89ers will face again Shinshu BW (#8) in Nagano in the next round.
