There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Oita Heat Devils (18-31) edged on the road 5th ranked Osaka Evessa (27-22) 69-66 on Saturday. Osaka Evessa was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 20-11 charge of Oita Heat Devils, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for guard Demetri McCamey (191-89, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Drew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Oita Heat Devils' coach Yukinori Suzuki used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) replied with 2 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks and swingman Seth Tarver (196-88, college: Oregon St., agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Oita Heat Devils maintains seventh position with 18-31 record, which they share with Gunma. Osaka Evessa at the other side keeps the fifth place with 22 games lost. Oita Heat Devils will have a break next round. Osaka Evessa will play again at home against Oita Heat Devils (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
