Regular Season Round 29: Chalon - Nanterre 96-72

The game between second ranked JSF Nanterre (23-6) and twelfth ranked Chalon/Saor (14-15) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. JSF Nanterre was crushed by Chalon/Saor in Chalon 96-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of JSF Nanterre. The game without a history. Chalon/Saor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Chalon/Saor shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) stepped up and scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Jason Rich (191-86) chipped in 12 points and 10 assists. Five Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Center Johan Passave-Ducteil (200-85, agency: Comsport) responded with 14 points and American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chalon/Saor maintains twelfth place with 14-15 record. JSF Nanterre at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Chalon/Saor are looking forward to face higher ranked Le Mans (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. JSF Nanterre will play against Sluc Nancy (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
