Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Leuven Bears (4-22) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (10-14) 86-78 on Sunday. Leuven Bears were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for American Rion Brown (198-91, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St.) helped adding 15 points. At the losing side international power forward Kevin Tumba (206-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and American point guard Jason Westrol (191-88, college: Bentley) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Basic-Fit Brussels maintains ninth place in League with 10-14 record. Leuven Bears at the other side stay dead last with 22 lost games. Basic-Fit Brussels will face higher ranked Liege Basket (#7) in Liege in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leuven Bears will play on the road against VOO Verviers-Pepinster (#8) and hope to win that game.
