Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Shimane Magic (20-30) beat at home 10th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (12-38) 88-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Shimane Magic. Fukuoka Rizing managed to win third quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) stepped up and scored 22 points for the winners and American swingman Wesley Witherspoon (205-90, college: Memphis) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) scored 17 points. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Joe Bryant rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shimane Magic maintains sixth place with 20-30 record. Fukuoka Rizing lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with 38 games lost. They share it with Bambitious Nara. Shimane Magic will meet at home Bambitious Nara (#9) in the next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Takamatsu FA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
