There was no surprise when 9th ranked Bambitious Nara (12-38) was crushed at home by second ranked Okinawa GK (41-9) 89-54 on Sunday. The game without a history. Okinawa GK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Bambitious Nara's players. Point guard Shota Tsuyama (178-96) stepped up and scored 17 points and 4 assists for the winners and Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. American power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Okinawa GK have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 41-9 record having just -1 point less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Bambitious Nara lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 38 games lost. They share it with Fukuoka Rizing. Okinawa GK will meet at home Shiga L-Stars (#4) in the next round. Bambitious Nara will play against Shimane Magic (#6) and hope to secure a win.
