Bottom-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the series of five consecutive loses. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Gipuzkoa in San Sebastian 86-74. It looked good early as Gipuzkoa took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Baloncesto Fuenlabrada had a 23-12 second period charge getting the lead. Then Gipuzkoa managed to tie the game at the end of regular time, but lost overtime period 4-16. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Gipuzkoa's 28. American forward Andy Panko (204-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: Beo Basket) nailed 29 points for the winning side and British power forward Daniel Clark (210-88) accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Daniel Diez (202-93) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jordi Grimau (196-83) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Gipuzkoa in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada maintains eighteenth place with 7-22 record. Gipuzkoa lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Sevilla. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will play against higher ranked Laboral Kutxa (#6) in Vitoria in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gipuzkoa will play on the road against FIATC Joventut (#7) in Badalona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
