Veilchen upset Osnabruck on the road in the opening game of the semifinal series. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-9. But Osnabruck won third quarter 17-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Monique Smalls (168-91, college: Texas Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and her fellow American import power forward Nicole Jones (188-89, college: Drexel) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side Canadian swingman Emma Duinker (182-89) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Alysa Horn (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
